We’re sure many savvy shoppers have already heard of the giant new Ezdan Mall, but have you ventured out of your regular haunts to give it a true whirl? The new centre, opposite Landmark on the Doha expressway, has grown substantially since it officially opened earlier this year. There are more than 100 stores, with dozens still to come, offering fashion, beauty and home décor, along with restaurants, coffee shops and a kids’ entertainment zone.
One of the biggest attractions is the range of international stores not available anywhere else in Doha. There’s a huge Forever 21 store, which expats have been screaming for, plus Cotton On, Jane Norman, Collezione, Bebe, M&Co, Marc Fisher, New Yorker, Aeropostale, Le Chateau, Passionata, Lily, Choice and La Vie en Rose, along with global shoe brands Menbur, Pedro Shoes and FFC New York.
Join us as we go on a spree in this welcome new addition to Doha’s shopping scene…
We checked out Bebe, a fave boutique from Beverly Hills to Dubai, which has a stunning collection of outfits perfect for a night out on the town. We couldn’t resist trying on just about everything we saw.
Tally Weijl also got our attention as it has such a unique style, with funky denims and printed shirts. We fell for the sparkling store design too.
Think: quirky fashion and a large range of mind-blowing accessories. We adore their monochrome and studded designs, which are so hot right now, as well as their stunning range of shoes. We found an awesome studded black handbag for just QR109 – that’s an awesome bargain!
For more of a splurge, there are stores like glam Spanish shoe boutique Menbur, which has the most fabulously detailed footwear. We found an incredible nude and beige pair with ruffles and gravity-defying heels for QR1,599. Menbur also has stunning handbags – a colourful diagonal clutch at QR369 caught our eyes instantly.
At budget fave Cotton On we found some adorable jumpsuits from QR79 that you could easily team up with one of their jackets (from QR169). The Aussie chain has a great collection of scarves too for just QR49 a piece with interesting prints, and is fab value for fun basics like vests (two for QR99) and shorts (from QR99).
With clothes, shoes and jewellery sorted, the final detail had to be a fab pair of sunnies, so we hunted some down. A quirky pair of velvet sunnies by Italia Independent from Eyezone were a firm fave at QR1,030. Our final verdict? We look good – and so does this mall!
Bursting with beautiful designs and cocktails frocks, we spotted an utterly gorge dress with bright salmon pink prints at QR219 and a beaded blue top at QR179 that you could wear to just about any occasion. Everything in Jane Norman is so reasonably priced it’s hard to splurge.
There’s Dwell, offering high quality linens and other boudoir beauties, and just next door is Think Kitchen, a foodie gadget heaven. For all things electronic, a 3000sqm Sharaf DG is due to open.
Inglot Cosmetics, which gives customers the option of creating their own customised colour palettes, and organic health and beauty store Neal’s Yard Remedies have already opened, and Boots is on its way.
Expats will be pleased that Doha finally has a Tim Hortons, a Canadian restaurant chain known worldwide for delish coffee and doughnuts. There are plenty of other restaurants due to open too, including Sushi Minto, Wagamama, Lina’s Paris, Chili’s, Johnny Rockets and Fuddruckers.
