Idris Elba Drops The Biggest Hint Yet That He's The Next James Bond
Last week, Riz Ahmed set tongues wagging when he said that taking over James Bond's tux "appeals" to him. But this week it's Idris Elba who has us all talking about his 007 potential...
The not-so-cryptic tweet is a play, of course, on James Bond's famous "Bond, James Bond" catch phrase, leading fans to go into meltdown, assuming that he is stepping into Daniel Craig's Bond shoes.
Daniel Craig is currently gearing up to star in Bond 25, but it will be his last appearance as Bond.
This isn't the first time that 45-year-old Luther star, Idris, has been linked to the role. Rumours have connected him to the project since 2014.
Time For Change
Interestingly, earlier this week Bond producer, Barbara Broccoli, reportedly told director Antoine Fuqua “it is time” for a non-white actor to take on the Bond role.
Antoine told the Daily Star that Barbara feels “it is time” for an non-white actor to 007, adding that she is certain “it will happen eventually”.
