Iconic Puma sports wear to get a Middle Eastern twist

Local creatives will have the chance to personalise a classic Puma T7 track jacket as part of a new design project unveiled by the brand,

The ‘Built for One’ project is part of the 40 year celebrations of the iconic piece of sportswear, and will see Puma collaborate with regional artists, bloggers, musicians and filmmakers to design and create their own version of the iconic at an exclusive workshop event in Dubai, where the select few will put their creative savvy to work and build a bespoke PUMA Creative Factory T7 jacket from an assortment of materials and fabrics.

The PUMA T7 Track Jacket was born in 1968 and has achieved legendary status by being worn by famous athletes, rock stars, b-boys and artists including football legend Pele and the Beastie Boys.

PUMA is working with local fashion designers Zayan Ghandour, Emperor 1688, Tahir Sultan (who dressed Kimberly Wyatt at last week’s Ahlan! LOUD event at Cavalli Club), Essa, Michael Cinco and Alanoud Badr to create their own one-of-a kind interpretations of the T7 Jackets, which will be exhibited exclusively at the SOLE DXB event on 27 April, 2012.

You can buy one of 250 Limited Edition T7 jackets and customise them by selecting individual components including front, back and sleeve panels as well as the iconic T7 stripe, in various colour options, priced at Dhs400, from 1 May 2012 at The Dubai Mall.
