Hunter’s Light is now a favourite at the Dubai World Cup after winning round three of the Al Maktoum Challenge

Dubai-owned stables' Godolphin notched up another win when Hunter’s Light won the Al Maktoum Challenge round three at the Meydan Racecourse on Saturday night (9 March).

Ridden by Silvestre de Sousza, Hunter’s Light’s win marks the 200th time that the stables have celebrated a Group One winner. The horse exceeded all expectations in a race with world-class components, including last year’s Dubai World Cup winner Monterosso.

The five-year-old horse is now set to be the one-to-watch at the Dubai World Cup at the end of March. “The job is not yet finished, we will return with Hunter’s Light to contest the Dubai World Cup in three weeks’ time” said long-serving Godolphin handler Saeed Bin Surour.
