JLo makes sure she gets a good night's rest
They have a knack of looking fabulous all the time when the bulb flashes on the red carpet, but these Hollywood beauties are proof that it take more than just a good dress and a fantastic make-up artist to shine. Yummy mummies Kate Hudson, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Lopez and Kim Kardashian have all managed to keep their bodies in great shape despite having children and maintaining busy work schedules, but just how do they all do it?

JLo Gets Beauty Sleep
When it comes to being flawless JLo, 46, is head and shoulders above the rest, but the secret to her beauty is really all common sense. She works hard, rests extremely well and exercises almost every day. She told People.com: “I try to always get as much sleep as I can so that I can start the day well rested and do my morning meditation and affirmations.” And it’s no surprise that she needs so much sleep, because she puts her body through its paces five times a week! “It’s no secret that I love dancing, so it doesn’t even feel like exercise to me. I freestyle dance with Tracy Anderson five times a week. We’ll incorporate light weights for the arms and moves that focus on the butt and thighs and engage the core.” Jen is so committed to having fighting fit physique that she even has trainers on both coasts of America. “We do hour-long circuits at least three times a week. It’s full-body training — so planks, pushups, boxing — really everything. It’s all about changing it up and keeping your body guessing.”

Kate Cuts Out Steak
Hollywood actress Kate, 36, is also a fitness fanatic and attributes her toned body to switching up her routine and changing her regime from time to time, but her first choice is Pilates. “Nothing makes me feel like I’m back to my body more than Pilates. I’m one of those people who’s up early in the morning and I’ll be in a robe getting my hair done, and I’ll do push-ups for five minutes,” she told Self magazine. Mum-of-two Kate is also strict with her diet and only eats, “five small meals a day, sticking to unprocessed and plant-based foods. I’ve pretty much cut meat out. I don’t remember the last time I ate a steak. The hardest thing for me is eating right when I get up, because I don’t like to. I’m not one of those people who wakes up hungry.” Although Hudson is keen to take care of herself she does feel that there is too much social pressure on women to look good. She added: “We’ve been programmed to feel like we’re under this great obligation as women to look and be a certain way. That’s what culture and society have gifted us as women.”

Xtina’s Crazy for Yoga
Another star who refuses to bow down to the perceived perfect image is Christina Aguilera. The famously curvy 35-year-old mother-of-two opened up to Women’s Health about the challenges and expectations she faces, saying: “We’re expected to be pregnant, have the kids, breastfeed once we have the babies. And we’re expected to look amazing after the baby, right? There’s such a long list.” Nevertheless, the Dirrty singer practices yoga daily to help both calm her and raise her confidence levels. “It’s things like yoga that have helped me to know how to centre myself and how to bring myself into that place of awareness and just being able to breathe into my own body. My whole life, I feel like I’ve lived many years growing up in this business, from seven-years-old on, in very much a fight-or-flight mode, and it’s yoga that brings you outside of that chaotic moment and then draws you inside to connect with what really is meaningful to you and sort of your inner light, which then connects with your confidence.”

Having given birth a little over two months ago, it’s fair to say Kim, 35, is obsessed with losing weight and getting her pre-baby body back as soon as possible. The reality TV star is trying to drop 70lbs and wants to keep a low profile until she reaches her target. A source told HollywoodLife.com: “Kim’s keeping her post-baby body on lockdown until she feels she has lost enough weight to be seen. She’s careful to cover herself up if she absolutely has to go out in public. She’s been very strict about keeping her body out of sight until she has finished shedding all of her baby fat.” However, there’s no quick fix for Kim and the yummy mummy isn’t cutting any corners when it comes to her workouts. “She will not be happy or satisfied until the last few pounds are off,” the insider continued. “Kim’s been working-out like crazy and eating healthily. She knows there are tons of photographers waiting by her house for the first pictures with baby Saint and she wants to look perfect."
