How Amanda Seyfried Healed her Broken Heart
Everyone has their own way of dealing with heartbreak, and actress Amanda Seyfriend turned to meditation when things went sour with her and former flame Justin Long.
The 30-year-old actress and Justin, 37, dated for two years before ending their romance in September last year. Since being single, Amanda took time to focus on herself and decided to start meditating.
"I started meditating last year and I've spent a lot of time at The DEN Meditation in LA," Amanda told Britain's Glamour magazine.
Meditating has clearly helped Amanda, who now appears more content with herself than ever before. She also spoke about her importance of her dog Finn, who she references as her "best buddy".
"My Australian Shepherd dog is everything to me," she smiled. "He gives me unconditional support and wants nothing in return - apart from food."
As well as meditating and enjoying time with her pooch, the blonde beauty has also taken up a few hobbies to keep her mind occupied. After having huge success with her knitting, the actress decided to try her luck at crocheting.
"I've been knitting for 12 years but learnt to crochet last year," she shared. "I'm making a granny blanket which will take me forever but I really enjoy it."
Amanda is currently being kept busy filming the TV revamp of hit series Twin Peaks, which also stars Kyle MacLachlan and Balthazar Getty.
Prior to that, Amanda shot The Last Word, in which she plays a young journalist who strikes up a friendship with an elderly interviewee. Shirley MacLaine took that role, and Amanda admits working with the acting veteran was a once in a lifetime opportunity.
"She's ageless, funny and so talented," Amanda said of 81-year-old Hollywood veteran. "She has so many stories and her acting experience is out of this world."
