Hotel Review: The St Regis Saadiyat Island Resort
The St Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi, opened in December 2011, bringing the iconic hotel brand to the Middle East. The resort is framed by the Saadiyat Beach Golf Course designed by legendary golfer Gary Player and a 9km beach where you can spot Hawksbill turtles crawling and bottlenose dolphins playing along the shoreline.
All the 377 rooms and suites have private balconies offering spectacular ocean views. We love the ceiling fans and the super plush beds – ideal for lazing away on a summer afternoon.
The Mediterranean-style resort’s seven restaurants serve up a feast, visual and culinary. The Manhattan Lounge features a stunning mural wall telling the story of Abu Dhabi’s earliest settlers, while the Sontaya offers flavoursome Southeast Asian delicacies in its floating glass-walled pavilions.
The region’s first Iridium Spa promises to wipe away all fatigue with its fabulous massages and facials. Make it a point to book a special package and don’t miss out on the tea ritual either.
The three 207sq m Majestic Suites welcome guests with all the comforts of a fine home, 24-hour butler and round-the-clock private dining option included. The 60sq m private terrace of this two-bedroom suite opens up to spectacular views of the ocean. The extended living area includes an intimate dining area with seating for six.
