Hotel Review: Shangri-La Hotel Qaryat Al Beri
The Shangri-La Hotel Qaryat Al Beri is a sprawling complex featuring a range of luxe stay options and a bursting-with-bargains souk. Naturally, it is the place for fashionistas looking for a quick break in Abu Dhabi.
The hotel’s 214 lovely rooms and suites and six spacious four-bedroom villas are elegant and comfortable with their blend of Arabian design and cosmopolitan conveniences. Smart furniture, soft carpets and stunning artefacts create delightful spaces. All bathrooms are marble and mosaic with full amenities. Many rooms and suites have private terraces/balconies.
For the best traditional Cantonese cuisine this side of the Great Wall, walk into Shang Palace, the hotel’s signature restaurant. Don’t leave without trying their deep-fried crispy banana balls. Dessert heaven! If you want fresh, tangy Vietnamese food instead, Hoi An is your restaurant.
And finally, pamper yourself at CHI, the spa. Try the very indulgent Detoxifying Arabic Coffee Scrub.
The Shangri-La has two Presidential Suites – one offers elegant Arabian living and the other is more contemporary. Fresh yet warm spaces with splashes of colour, both have super-comfortable bedrooms (with a pillow menu), large lounges with great entertainment systems, dining rooms, study-rooms, private saunas, balconies and flourishing rooftop gardens. Of course, there is a private butler too.
