Hotel Review: Hotel des Arts Saigon, Ho Chi Minh City

If you’re in Ho Chi Minh City for a weekend, you might as well stay in the best hotel possible. And nothing is more beautiful and luxurious than the magnificent Hôtel des Arts Saigon. We don’t like to use the word ‘magnificent’ lightly, but this place is beyond epic.

Officially opened in October 2015, Hôtel des Arts Saigon, MGallery Collection is centrally located in the most vibrant district of Ho Chi Minh City, just steps away from Notre Dame Cathedral, the Opera House, the historic Saigon Central Post Office and other key tourist attractions.

Consisting of 168 lavish rooms and studio suites, Hôtel de Arts Saigon reminds us of a time when a voyage to the Far East was a luxurious privilege for the most sophisticated members of society. We pretty much felt like royalty during our stay.

The guest rooms and suites are elegantly designed with traditional Indochine elements elevated in timeless French style with eclectic touches of custom-painted furnishings and 19th century French herbs that have been pressed and framed. Crisp white linens, goose feathered comforters and plush beds envelope guests in decadent comfort.

All of its luxurious rooms and suites feature the most modern of conveniences such as complimentary WiFi, 50-inch LED TVs in stunning gold frames and signature amenities.

You certainly won’t go hungry either. Four dynamic restaurants and bars serve up a range of culinary experiences at the hotel. Social Club restaurant and lounge on the 23rd-floor is poised to make its mark on the city’s dining and nightlife scene, attracting hotel guests and in-the-know locals alike. Here you can enjoy delicious casual European cuisine, paired with an array of handcrafted drinks from the stunning oak wood bar. The alchemy of Social Club Restaurant extends to the stylish Social Club Rooftop Bar, an outdoor lounge one floor above Social Club Restaurant, featuring breath-taking views of the city. It’s perfect for sundowners next to the infinity pool. Needless to say, it’s also an Instagram hotspot like no other.

On the second floor, Saigon Kitchen offers authentic, street food-inspired Indochina and European cuisine with an opportunity to view chefs in action at its open kitchen. Café des Beaux-Arts on the ground floor is the perfect setting to relax, discuss business or socialise over coffee or mixed drinks.

And what is a luxury hotel without a spa? Le Spa des Artistes provides luxurious spa treatments that soothe, rejuvenate, de-stress and revitalise. For a more invigorating experience, you can work out in a state-of-the-art fitness facility (if you must).

Truth be told, Hôtel des Arts Saigon is one of those properties you’ll find hard to leave once you check in. Even if you prefer a more laidback visit to Ho Chi Minh City without a jam-packed schedule of activities, you’ll still feel like you’re seeing and experiencing the city at the hotel itself.

So if you feel like treating yourself and feeling like royalty (move over, Meghan), look no further than Hôtel des Arts Saigon (we’re already planning our next visit, TBH).
