Hotel Review: Emirates Palace
This Kempinski-managed five-star hotel’s massive dome is a landmark in Abu Dhabi. Located right by the Corniche, with the Presidential Palace within sighting distance, this is a hotel that takes its décor (grand), service (excellent) and restaurants (delicious) seriously. The impressive entrance and ornate lobby sets the tone for a truly grand experience.
All 394 rooms and suites come with a view – garden, beach or sea – and are majestically decorated with accents of gold. Think luxury furnishings, flat-screen TVs, mini bars, laptop-sized safes and more.
The hotel’s rolling lawns are a popular venue for mega concerts and its auditorium has featured star-studded film premieres. Its restaurants and bars are among the best in Abu Dhabi.
For a very special treat, have dinner at Mezlai, the UAE’s first Emirati restaurant. Its focus is on fresh seafood, tender meats and aromatic rices, so you can be sure to expect a treat. Then there is Hakkasan, the Michelin-starred, multi-award winning restaurant that has a unique take on contemporary Chinese cuisine. It will make you want to come back.
Three regal bedrooms, over-sized marble bathrooms with Jacuzzi, a gorgeous majlis-style living area, an elegant dining room and a huge balcony make up the Palace Suite, literally a palace within a palace. Limousine transfers from Abu Dhabi airport and 24-hour butler service are their little ways of making you feel pampered. There’s also the stunning view and a superb entertainment system on offer.
