I started my career in music when I was a child,” reveals the Kenyan singer/songwriter. “Coming from Africa, I would always watch bands in their practice sessions as I was too young for nightclubs, but I didn’t want that to stop me trying to understand how music is made and what components and instruments made up the music.” And it’s these childhood experiences that have only helped Sal get to the top of his profession and working alongside hit music makers like Mark Middleton from the legendary group, Backstreet. “That was an amazing experience. He was one of my childhood heroes!”

Coming to Dubai 25 years ago, the handsome bachelor has settled in Satwa as; “everything around me is so real and it also reminds me of how Dubai used to be and how far we have come since.” And while he’s busy working on his latest album, he confesses he’s happy to leave fate in destiny’s hands when it comes to the year ahead. “Everything happens for a reason. We might not understand certain events in our lives, but we have to have faith in all that comes your way. Good and bad.”
