You would never think five years ago, when Saif set up the scaffolding formwork company, ADSF, that he would later launch the Middle East social networking site Yadig.com to educate people on where to go in the region.

“I guess you could say I have that entrepreneurial spirit and tend to find myself starting new businesses and taking on the challenges they entail. When I took on ADSF in 2005, we were amid the UAE construction boom so it was very easy to go into that field. Now things are a lot more complicated with the current economy, so you have to find a need and fill it. With Yadig.com we’re adddressing a real demand for residents and tourists. With our website we’re helping people make educated decisions based on other people’s experiences.”

Born in the UAE and currently living on Palm Jumeirah, Saif is very proud of his country. “The physical face of the UAE has changed dramatically over the last 15 years or so. We have such a vast diversification of people and cultures and when people come here from all parts of the world they’re very humble and friendly. There’s so much energy here. People are working, going out and really enjoying life to the full.”

When determining the laws of success, this Emirati is very mathematical. “It’s 40 per cent hard work, 50 per cent luck and 10 per cent determination.”
