Homes are being evacuated on UAE's east coast to prepare for Cyclone Kyarr
Schools have been closed and homes evacuated in UAE's eastern towns readying for the impact of Cyclone Kyarr.
The town of Kalba has been flooded with ankle-deep water from the ocean, while the storm lashes parts of Oman.
Police are currently assisting residents in their preparation and helping clear the damages, digging trenches to clear the water.
Families in the town have been moved to hotel apartments for safety, and electricity has been disconnected in houses that have been flooded.
The cyclone is one of the strongest to hit the Arabian Gulf in the past 12 years.
