PUBLIC HOLIDAY ALERT: There are still a few public holidays for 2019
The last public holidays for the United Arab Emirates in 2019 will be in December.
There was a lot of confusion with the 1 Muharram holiday this year. Everyone was hoping to get a Sunday off, but the Islamic New Year was announced on Saturday, in light of the moon sighting.
And let’s face it, not many people benefit from a special holiday on a Saturday.
So after losing that holiday, we bet you’re all wondering when the next one is.
Well, we come bearing some great news. There will be a two-day break from December 2-3 for UAE National Day.
The UAE Cabinet approves public holidays for the public sector for the years 2019-2020, and grants the private sector equal holidays. The decision aims at achieving a balance between the two sectors and supporting the national economy. #UAEGov pic.twitter.com/VqQqU8IBFx— UAEGov (@uaegov) March 5, 2019
Commemoration Day which actually falls on 30 November, will mean a Saturday off for those who work . And 2 & 3 December will be off to celebrate our 48th National Day!
So it's likely there will be a few sick days on Sunday, December 1!
