Herbed Chicken Burger with Caramelised Apple
4 burger buns
FOR THE PATTY
400g chicken breast
3g sage, chopped
3g thyme, chopped
FOR THE CARAMELISED APPLE
200g red apple, peeled and cut into wedges
10g brown sugar
40g iceberg lettuce
40g low-fat cheddar cheese
160g barbeque sauce
1. Marinate the chicken with sage, thyme, sea salt and white pepper for 3 hours. Then grill until cooked through.
2. In a non-stick pan, melt the brown sugar and add the apple wedges and sauté. Caramelise in a 180C oven for 10 minutes until they turn golden.
3. Cut the bread rolls in half, layer with lettuce, tomato, chicken breast, caramelised apple and low-fat cheddar cheese. Serve with barbeque sauce on the side.
