Headed to Sandance for NYE? Here's What You Need to Know
Got Sandance NYE tickets? You're on a shuttle bus then! As Dubai attempts to create the largest firework display in history, it mean checks of the kind there haven't been before at Sandance, one of the city's most popular events. So you have to travel to the venue on a shuttle bus and will not be allowed to leave until after 1am.
How's it all going to work? Well, Sandance ticket holders can exchange their printed tickets for wristbands at the American University Dubai (AUD) in Media City to gain access to double-decker buses that will provide transport to Atlantis Beach. Palm Jumeirah will not be accessible by any other means for Sandance guests. That means taxis and personal cars will not be permitted to proceed through the government check points in place at several locations.
Shuttle busses for Sandance ticket holders will start their rotations at 5pm and end promptly at 9pm. This means you can't reach the venue any later.
The Palm will reopen at 1am when the shuttles will restore their rotations to return guests.
Aside from Sandance revellers, anyone entering the Palm from 8am on NYE will require a special pass, and no deliveries will be permitted after 5pm.
Residents have been told that they'll get passes for four people and one vehicle per household. Pre-registration will be required. The restrictions end at 6am on New Year’s Day.
As always, Sandance will be a star-studded affair. On the bill this year are Emeli Sande, Paul Oakenfold, Pete Tong and Axwell.
