Tell us about the Appreciation & Recognition Award you received last year.
It was a proud moment. I received this in the presence of HH Sheikh Saeed Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for Plan B’s creativity and hard work given towards the success of the HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s Fazza Annual Championship.
What was your remit for the Fazza Championship?
The basic line is to educate and market the local heritage championship to expats, connect to the local audience and market it to the tourism sector showcasing the rich cultural attributes of the region through local sports.
Tell us about the other events Plan B is involved in.
Summer in Abu Dhabi, Dubai Rugby Sevens and Heineken Hospitality are some of the big ones. Plus, we were responsible for the Dubai Standard Chartered Marathon, managing the event, entertainment and activities in the village carnival at the Burj Park. Every year the marathon gets bigger and better and we’re proud to have been part of it for the past nine years.
You moved to the UAE in 2003. What do you think of it?
The genuine attitude of the locals and the vision of the rulers make this place unique and a role model for a world where everyone lives peacefully and towards progress.
