Gwyneth Paltrow Set to Launch Her First Clothing Line
Yes, it’s finally happening! Gwyneth Paltrow’s lifestyle site Goop is all set to launch its own eponymous fashion line next year, which will be designed solely by the actress herself.
The blonde beauty, who previously teamed up with designers Michael Kors, Stella McCartney and Matthew Williamson to create capsule collections for the online company, has decided to go solo and will be introducing her own designs to the site, starting with a collection of basics in 2015 including a sure-to-be-luxe range of classic t-shirts, chic denims, rich fabrics and plenty of neutral colors.
Reportedly the brand will also continue its designer collaboration, according to sources close to the 42-year-old starlet, he former wife of singer Chris Martin has even planned a second team-up with Stella McCartney as well as Diane Von Furstenberg.
Meanwhile, Ms Business savvy - Paltrow has hired Martha Stewart Living’s former CEO, Lisa Gersh, to head up her company. Gersh resigned from Martha Stewart in December 2012 after a rocky tenure that saw her in the CEO position for less than six months. While at the company, she led the restructuring of the company’s publishing unit.
Gwyneth explained her decision saying: “She is the perfect person to build on the momentum we have already created at Goop, and she will further help to diversify our opportunities within the market.”
Although Martha Stewart recently dissed Gwyneth stating that: “If the Oscar winner were confident in her acting she wouldn’t be trying so hard to be Martha Stewart,” the actress -turned-entrepreneur is evidently taking all the criticism in stride.
And considering the fact that Paltrow rarely dons an outfit we don’t love, anything she comes up with is sure to fly off the shelves!
