A total turnaround from last season’s 70’ love affair, the roaring 20s were the inspiration for Frida Giannini’s glossy and glam Gucci spring summer show at Milan Fashion Week. With style icons of the era Louise Brookes and Nancy Cunard a starting point, the finale of fringed gold and black cocktail dresses with Art Deco-inspired beading gave us major fashion goosebumps, while the cropped and divinely embellished black and gold jackets look to be one of the investment pieces of the season. With splashes of emerald, green and white, equestrian references, animal print, and plenty of the classic Gucci glamazon thrown in for good measure, with the release of Baz Luhrman’s Great Gatsby in 2012,  flapper girl chic looks set for a major resurgence next season.
