RiRi’s So Sick
Rihanna cancelled her performance at the Grammy Awards at music’s biggest night. Nearly an hour and a half into the ceremony, her reps released a statement which read: “Based on Rihanna’s examination after Grammy rehearsal today, her doctor put her on vocal rest for 48 hours because she was at risk of haemorrhaging her vocal cords. The antibiotics she has been on for three days didn’t kill the infection adequately.”
Michael & Alicia’s Kiss Cam Shame
And the award for the most awkward couple goes to Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender, who refused to publicly kiss at the BAFTAs. The pair turned down the chance to smooch when they were focused on for the hilarious BAFTA Kiss Cam segment of the show.
Leonardo DiCaprio made Dame Maggie Smith’s night by kissing her on the cheek, however, when it was Michael and Alicia in the spotlight, the couple refused to pucker up.
Adele Rocks the Mic
Adele was unable to do her usual flawless performance after poor sound left her and fans annoyed during her appearance at the Grammys. The audience winced as the 27-year-old belted out new track All I Ask, but the Brit sounded off key and explained afterwards what the problem was. She tweeted: “The piano mics fell on to the piano strings, that’s what the guitar sound was. It made it sound out of tune. S*** happens.”
Is Rebel Racist?
Rebel Wilson sparked controversy by trying to poke fun at the #OscarsSoWhite campaign. “I’ve never been to the Oscars, because as you know, they’re racist,” she said before addressing Idris Elba’s skin colour. “Sorry, Idris. You’re making me nervous. I’m just psychologically programmed to want chocolate on Valentine’s Day!”
