African Story ridden by Silvestre De Sousa wins the Dubai World Cup 2014

In the end, it was African Story's night at the Dubai World Cup! Trained by Saeed bin Suroor (who scored his sixth Dubai World Cup win with this) and owned by Godolphin, the horse was ridden by jockey Silvestre de Sousa.

A delighted De Sousa said: “He’s proven how good he is. I had a bit of bad luck in the earlier races but he has saved the best for the last.”

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum looked really happy after the win and cheered on the winner's podium with the trophy too!

Mukhadram (owned by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan) took second place in the final race while Cat O'Mountain (also a Godolphin horse) came in third.

Ruler of the World, widely considered the favourite to win, couldn't make a mark this time round.
