She’s gone from TV actress to royal-to-be in a matter of months, and with Meghan Markle’s new status comes a brand new hairstyle.
The former Suits star has been rocking a chic bun for her public commitments with fiance Prince Harry in recent months – the perfect elegant hairstyle for this budding princess. Getting the look isn’t as hard as it sounds, and it’s the ideal ‘do for a big event or meeting. We spoke to some of the U.K.’s top hairdressers for their tips on how to recreate Meghan’s stunning bun.
“I love this effortlessly chic look – you can’t beat a good bun!” Jay Birmingham, Celebrity Stylist and Owner of Jay Birmingham Hair, told us. “Meghan’s low loose bun is perfect for both day and night and gives a sense of ‘undone glamour’. By having a few loose strands around the front of her hairline also gives a more natural finish.
“This look should look almost undone and definitely does not need to be neat.”
Karen Brown, Owner of Hair by JFK, added that the style is the perfect hairstyle for those looking for something to do with their tresses in between washes.
“To create the look, firstly, gather all your hair into a ponytail at the nape of the neck and secure with a hair tie,” she explained. “Using the ponytail, twist this into a knot to create that effortless looking bun and secure with hairpins. The key to this look is it shouldn’t look too ‘neat’, so leave some strands of hair out around the face.
“As well as giving the look softness, these left out strands will also help to frame the face. Finish this look with a touch of shine spray to give your hair a gorgeous shine.”
