The Alaskan crab is our go-to dish. The meat is lightly dressed in lemon mayo, mixed with soft and creamy avocado and encased in a thin crunchy pastry with hints of caramel.
Bread is served in a brown paper bag. This helps keeps rolls nice and warm, making them even more tempting.
It’s not just about fish. There’s the Geales signature burger, rib eye steak, veal chop, mince beef cobbler and four veggie options to choose from on the menu.
Raw bars are terribly fashionable these days. Geales has one filled with carpaccio and tartare of salmon, tuna and sea bass that you can buy by the plate from Dhs40. There are also a few varieties of oysters that you can pick and mix.
Where better than to eat seafood than by the sea? While the view is very Arabian Gulf, the restaurant itself was founded in London. You’ll notice British accents (think Union Jack-patterned cushions rather than waiters with Cockney colloquialisms).
Check the website for special offers. At the time of going to press, you could grab a dozen oysters for just Dhs99 on Saturdays – bargain!
