Visiting the member countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) could become a whole lot easier next year, if a unified visa for the six countries comes into play.
Under the new visa, tourists would be able to visit the GCC countries with a single-entry visa valid for one month, but multiple-entry visas could be issued for one year. On top of the multiple visa, the single GCC country visas will also still be in place.
It's hoped that the visa will be similar to the Schengen visa in Europe, where one visa can be obtained to allow entry into multiple countries.
The GCC was established in May 1981 and includes Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
