Full moon yoga

If you thought the full moon was just for witches and warewolves, think again. It can actually be quite beneficial for your wellbeing - according to the experts at Talise Spa, Madinat Jumeirah.

April 21 sees this intriguing Full Moon Yoga event at Madinat Jumeirah Beach, accompanied by 30 guitarists and 15 drummers, no less!

This extremely stretchy, spiritual event will be hosted by Talise Yoga Master, Vinay Peedikaparamb, and will include a series of Hatha Yoga postures which will concentrate on breathing and deep meditation to calm the mind and encourage deep relaxation. Just what you need if you're feeling stressed out!

The day of the full moon is considered very auspicious, with its luminous fullness representing plenitude, abundance, and generous blessings. Nice to know, eh?

On this particular day, the moon overpowers the earth with its infinite energy, so chances are some of that will rub off on you. After all, it's been scientifically proven that the moon controls the tides, and in the same way it affects the water which makes up 80% of the human body. For this reason practising yoga during the full moon is considered to be the perfect opportunity to align the body with the lunar cycle.

The Full Moon Yoga event is open to any budding yogis of any ability.
