Five Factor Diet
CELEBRITY FANS: Jessica Simpson, Mandy Moore, Eva Mendes, Alicia Keys, John Mayer, Kanye West
WHAT’S INVOLVED: The Five Factor Diet is so-called because it last five weeks and consists of five meals a day, which are made up of five ingredients. You are also required to do five bursts of five-minute exercise sessions a day too. The creator, Harley Pasternak, designed the achievable diet for his celebrity fan base who often complained of not having enough time to eat well and exercise. Now there is no excuse for any of us. Meal plans consist of a basic and sensible balanced mix of protein, complex carbs, fibre, good fats and water.
YOU WILL NEED:
- For recipes on your five ingredient meals you will need to get Harley Pasternak’s book, The Five Factor Diet. It’s also great for tips and advice
- A ’fridge full of fresh fruit, protein and food rich in good fats, such as oily fish
- Lots of water - think three litres a day
VERDICT: While only lasting five weeks the plan is good for getting you used to smaller portions and helps control your appetite. The diet also helps make you aware of food groups, distinguishing which are good carbs and good fats. It also gives you an idea of what foods you can eat when dining out. This is good diet for those who struggle to stick to strict routines and those with little time on their hands. “The Five Factor Diet is definitely a way better option for general wellness and weight loss than the majority of faddy celebrity diets that are out there,” says Ryan Penny, Clinical Nutritionist and Conditioning Coach for The Wellness Brothers. “Emphasis on natural whole foods, regular meals and a manageable exercise plan all hit the right notes. Nothing magical, just some common sense nicely structured into a genuinely doable programme. This one gets a high five from me!”
