Two boats have caught fire at the Dubai Creek today afternoon, according to a report in Gulf News.
A Dubai Civil Defence spokesperson said there were no injuries or deaths as of yet. He added that teams from five fire stations are on the scene battling the blaze.
"The operations room received a call about the fire at a 3:04pm. As of now, there are two boats on fire, but we can't say anything about the damages as yet," he said.
Teams from Al Ras, Al Karama, Al Rashidiya, Port Saeed and Sea Rescue fire stations are on the scene and are carrying out rescue operations.
An eyewitness said he could see thick black smoke when he was on his way home from Al Karama and according to reports the smoke can be seen all the way from Sheikh Zayed Road.
