If we learnt anything from this week’s 21st annual Critics’ Choice awards, it’s that black is back in a big, big way, as ensembles that were anything but basic stormed the blue carpet, with Hollywood’s elite proving that this classic colour will never go out of style.

Leading the pack were Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Bryce Dallas Howard who all let their personality shine through with unique touches. Rosie showed off her sultry side in a seductive Saint Laurent number, while Bryce both upped the drama with a sleek updo and smoky eye make-up to pair with her low-cut gown. America Ferrera went for a more playful look with bouncy curls and peep-toe platforms, while dashes of white and silver added a finishing touch to both Leslie Mann and Emmy Rossum’s stunning dresses. Looks like we need to rethink our wardrobes!
