Fifth Harmony received some angry backlash from their followers this weekend, after a fan got mishandled by the group’s security members at a hotel.

The drama started when a video was shared online, showing a security guard yelling at fans in a hotel the girls were staying at. The person who shared the video stated that it was ‘unacceptable’. Another video was posted of a guard pushing a girl out of the way, while the singers were being escorted through the airport. The push wasn’t super violent or rough, but should security guards be pushing fans at all? Fans were outraged by this and felt like they were being treated like animals.

The band members of Fifth Harmony, Ally Brooke, Camila Cabello, Lauren Jauregui, Dinah Jane and Normani Kordei, released a statement on their Twitter account saying: “We feel like sometimes you guys forget that there are only five of us versus the hundreds of you.”

Fans have also accussed a security guard of touching another fan inappropriately, but the group shut down those rumours too. “We were there, not one security guard inappropriately touched or harmed anyone” they stated.

Many celebrities like Meghan Trainor, have decided to amp up their security levels after the murder of singer Christina Grimmie rcently. Fifth Harmony continued on to say that: “In light of recent events like the shooting, we can’t ever be too safe with our personal space and protection. When you disrespect our team, you’re disrespecting us.”

It looks like the relationship between the group and their fans is anything but harmonious. See what we did there?
