Fashion Tips From the Top

11 Aug 2012

Viva’s Fashion Editor Kirsten Doak gives you some style tips for the month

More is More
Pssst. After being bombarded with special requests, the complete Tiffany & Co range is now available in the Middle East. Spy a jewel on, and you can now buy it here in Dubai. This year also marks Tiffany & Co’s 175th anniversary and to celebrate they’ve crafted a selection of jewels, pendants, rings and cuffs in RUBEDO™, an exclusive new rose  coloured metal.

Siesta Swimwear
Want to rule the waves when it comes to swimwear? women’secret is too good to be kept hush, hush. Whilst most of us know the Spanish brand for it’s lingerie, sleepwear and casual fashion, it is also amazing for vacation ready clothes. As thoughts turn to summer getaways, be sure to shop here before you pack your beach bags. Exotic day ahead? Choose a shirtdress, a maxi or a tunic with a wicker bag and braided sandals. El Dorado anyone? From Dhs89.

And stretch...
There is one thing that circa-1980s Madonna, Gwen Stefani, and Flashdance all have in common: a huge devotion to lycra. Come 2012, and VPL’s lingerie slash loungewear collection at Harvey Nichols brings stretch back in a sophisticated noughties kinda way. The ‘underwear, outerwear, anywhere’ line shows off block colours with cutout and panel details. Included is the seasons fad; the crop top. Navel to bra line is fair game.

Style me
We’re always on the lookout for new wardrobe ideas so, thank goodness, it’s (almost) a new season. Pre-Fall is trickling into Boutique1 and while the weather is still in summer mode our heads certainly are not. The first drops are from Current Elliot (pictured), BLK denim, Charlotte Olympia, Chinti and Parker, Each Other, Faith Connexion, Genetic Denim, Kenzo, and Wildfox.

Our favourite fashion editor, style icon and clothes maniac, Anna Dello Russo is creating an accessories collection for H&M. Statement making jewels, sunglasses, shoes and bags drop in-store September, just in time for Winter panache.
