The fashion world is mourning a big loss today as style mogul Oscar De La Renta has died. The designer who created beautiful wardrobe choices for A-listers, socialites and first ladies passed away at his home in Connecticut surrounded by family and close friends.
A family member confirmed the news of his passing to ABC News on Monday night, but did not divulge the exact cause of his death.
The acclaimed Dominican designer was diagnosed with cancer in 2006.
De la Renta's impressive career spanned over 40 years and he created stunning pieces for fashionistas around the world, including celebrities, politicians, and royalty.
He famously served as former U.S. First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy's go-to designer in the 1960s and most recently collaborated with George Clooney's now-wife Amal on her wedding gown for her September nuptials in Italy.
