A party isn’t a party without good food and the spread at the Ahlan! Hot 100 People was as good as it gets. To tantalise the palate, trays of delicately designed canapés were swept through the stylish crowd – the salmon ceviche on crostini was a Gourmet fave. We loved the cute paper cups of sweet potato fries with sour cream dressing – it was an unfussy appetiser that was a real crowd-pleaser.
The glamorous set at Hot 100 deserved nothing less than the best, and what’s better than freshly shucked oysters resting on a custom-made ice sculpture? The incredible appetiser offering, also featured amazing salmon mini-quiches, which were soft with subtle flavour and a great flaky crust. The mushroom version was also a big hit, if you’re a vegetarian or not!
Moving on to the main event, the live cooking stations served up something to satisfy everyone. The barbeque station was a meat-lovers delight with tender beef basted in a moreish sauce. Who doesn’t love pasta, especially when you can design your own dish? The pasta station had a delish range of different pastas and sauces to choose from and it was all cooked up right in front of you – yum!
For dessert, tables full of sweet treats provided serious temptation and you couldn’t help but grab a macaroon (or three!) every time you walked by. Thanks to GelatoLab, authentic Italian ice cream was in abundance with unctuous chocolate, vanilla and a variety of flavours on offer. For those without a sweet-tooth the cheese station was a dream with top quality French imports on offer – paired with a glass of vino it made for the perfect ending to a veritable feast.
