Are looking forward to the show?
Yeah, definitely. We've been trying to come out to Dubai for about five or six years now. We've had one or two chances but they've gone away, and we're finally going to be there now so I'm looking forward to coming out and experiencing everything there. I know a lot of people who've gone out there and had a brilliant time.
What are you planning for your show?
Because it's the first show we're doing there, it's going to be the best of the last 16 years of the Stereophonics. We've got a limited amount of time on stage so we're not going to mess around! We're going to cram in as many hits as possible and hopefully people will appreciate that and want us back!
You've been working with Kelly Jones for over 16 years, which must be intense. How have you managed to keep that professional and personal relationship?
We've known each other for 35 years so we know what the other's thinking before we even open our mouths, and we grew up in the same environment with the same music. I think it's just an extension of being so close. We know what we're going to do and how we're going to do it, it's just a question of getting on and getting it nailed really! We've both got the same goals and we want to make sure that as many people get to hear and see the band as possible! That's what we want to be remembered for as well, as creating a brilliant catalogue of work and having a good standard of work, too.
What do you think of the other performers at the festival?
I'm looking forward to them all! Newton Faulkner is a brilliant guitarist. I've never seen him live so I'm looking forward to that. And I love Left Field. I know Labrinth is really good live too, so it's going to be a really good show.
