Ahlan! chats to the former Spice Girl ahead of her gigs at Skybar and Beats on the Beach in Abu Dhabi

We can't wait to see you perform at Skybar and Beats on the Beach in Abu Dhabi. What are you planning to perform on the night?
I'm really looking forward to being there, especially as I'm performing with my band. We always start with the hits ands then we'll put loads of great album tracks in between. To be honest with you, because last year I released my fifth solo album, The Sea, there are so many songs! Sometimes it's harder to decide what not to do rather than what to do. The show I do in Abu Dhabi will have a pop-rock-dance vibe.

Will you do any Spice Girls songs?
I don't tend to, to be honest with you. Because I've been a solo artist for so long I've got so many of my own songs. I think a Spice Girls song is never done justice unless all the Spice Girls are involved in performing it.

You've done a duet with Emma Bunton, haven't you?
I have, it was brilliant. It was lovely to be back in the studio with her. Our voices sound so lovely together and it just sounds like the Spice Girls, so we definitely shed a tear when we were recording.

Would you like to do duets with any of the other girls?
Possibly, in the future. I know both Geri [Halliwell] and Melanie [Brown] are working on music so if they asked me I'll be there! I love working with the girls, we have so much fun.

Will you ever get back together?
I'm sure that great opportunities will come up in the future, like the Olympics came up this year, and the door is always open for us girls to do stuff because we enjoy working together but I don't think we'd ever get back together as a band and make music. I think it's too time consuming when everyone has careers and families. It's hard enough to get us in a room together, let along get in us in the studio for six months to write an album. I think if we did anything it would just be one-offs.
