Everyone Wants a Piece of Britney
After being shunned for three years by Hollywood, Britney Spears has found herself back at the centre of attention with many a celeb desperate to be part of her comeback fame.
Following her hiatus Britney has resurfaced sober and unrepentant admitting she has “no regrets”, while promoting new album, Femme Fatale, which is set to put her career back on track. And while the star has worked hard on what she labels her “best album ever” it seems others are trying to stake a claim in her revival.
After Enrique Iglesias bailed out as support act for Britney’s summer tour, others have been quick to join the 29-year-old singer in what could be an attempt to promote their own careers. A source said of Enrique’s quitting, “He couldn’t handle being the support act and originally agreed to join her on the understanding they had equal billing.”
Replacing the Latino singer is hip hop newbie Nicki Minaj, who’ll be performing in front of her biggest crowds to date with record sell-out ticket sales. A source spilled, “The tour would be Britney’s first full live shows since her popular 2009 The Circus tour, which raked in an impressive Dhs136million in ticket sales.”
Rihanna, who suffered shockingly low ticket sales for her concerts in the US, has also jumped on the Britney bandwagon asking the singer to do a remix of controversial single SM. With the single banned in 11 countries the R’n’B star hopes “one of the biggest worldwide pop stars” will help make it a hit. RiRi admitted, “In order to do a remix, it had to be major. I asked my fans last week who they wanted me to collaborate with, and Britney was the most popular.”
Recognising Brit’s fan base is as big as ever crooner Celine Dion is desperately trying to convince Brit to join her in Vegas – “If Britney wants to come to Vegas and do a residency like me, I say go for it.” It’s Britney fever!
