This Australian mum-of-three is justifiably house-proud, having spent a lot of time “cleaning up” this old, single-storey, four-bedroom villa near Satwa.
A crisp, white finish is the result. “I love the whiteness of the bungalow,” says Emma. “My favourite room is the living room because of the view into the garden. The blue of the pool and the green of the bushes make such a beautiful contrast against the white walls. At night it looks amazing.”
As a keen traveller, much of her inspiration for interior design comes from overseas trips. “We always shop when we travel; that’s when we get our best ideas too,” says Emma.
A white-washed teak bench from Bali; throws and runners from St Tropez; a colourful dish from Turkey that decorates the white wall; prints of Galle Fort in Sri Lanka… the journey through Emma’s house is truly a global one.
