Emma Bunton is planning to give herself the power to become invisible in the Spice Girls' new animated superhero movie. The British singer reunited with the group for a tour earlier this year, having had meetings to discuss new projects - including the film, in 2018.
Emma has now revealed the girls are involved in the writing process - and that she will be trying to give her cartoon avatar some of her favourite superpowers.
“We’re not writing songs in the studio, we’re actually writing an animation, collaborations with other writers," she revealed on British daytime TV show This Morning. "It’ll be so fun. I just want superpowers. I’d like to be invisible, I’d like to fly obviously, all of them.”
A source previously told Variety that the movie will be themed around their feminist "girl power" message - and that it would likely be pitched to Disney chiefs.
"They're the most successful girl group on the planet. It's just what Marvel or Disney needs," an insider said of the Spice Girls film.
All five members, including Victoria Beckham, have reportedly signed deals to allow their likenesses to be used in the film, with each voicing a heroic version of themselves with a unique "girl power" reflecting their personality and nicknames - Posh, Scary, Baby, Sporty and Ginger.
