New Local Comedy Night Kicks off in Dubai!
Aussie Bronwyn ‘BB’ Byrnes is among the home-grown stand-ups coming to a new comedy night in JBR

Head on down to JBR to see the UAE’s latest comedy show!

Frankie’s Comedy Cellar kicks off its eight-week inaugural stint this Saturday at Frankie’s Italian Bar & Grill.

Host Dave Marosi said: “Frankie’s is a Dubai institution so it’s an amazing opportunity to be able to bring comedy to the Marina in this unique intimate setting already known for its great entertainment and live jazz.

“The comedy scene in Dubai right now is really blowing up and there’s a great crop of comedians bringing some real talent to the stage, and the audiences are loving it. It’s like New York in the Seventies or Eighties, exploding with great talent and great material, and Frankie’s Comedy Cellar is the best place where audiences can see and experience this amazing movement.”

Emirati comedian Omar Kazim will open this week’s show, which will also feature turns by Australian flight attendant Bronwyn ‘BB’ Byrnes, US banker Tony B Graham and Lebanese funnyman Rayan H Karaky, among others.

Marosi added: “People love to laugh, they love the self-reflection and honesty of comedy, and I know they love great food, so we can’t wait to bring this live from Frankie’s every week.”

The Frankie’s Italian Bar & Grill concept was created by three-Michelin-star chef Marco Pierre White and jockey Frankie Dettori and offers live entertainment seven nights a week.
