For this self-proclaimed exhibitionist, Elena’s two-storey villa is, in her own words: weird, different and colourful. “It’s us,” she says, referring to herself, her husband and her 18-month-old daughter.
Rather than concentrating on a particular style, Elena has simply furnished her house with “random pieces picked up around the world and strangely meshed them together to make some sense.”
Clearly Elena has creative tendencies that are hard to suppress. “I chopped the legs off our old dining table and have repainted it multiple times,” she says. “It sits on our bedroom terrace and is currently faded turquoise.”
Her other obsession is buying paintings every time she’s in Paris at Carre des Artistes in a Marais exhibition shop. “They’re small and funky and in almost every room of the house,” she says.
