Electro Velvet Flopped at Eurovision

Electro Velvet recently formed to represent the UK at the 60th Eurovision song contest, and shockingly made it to last Saturday’s final before narrowly avoiding “nil points” shame, coming 24th of 27 countries. The cruise ship-style collaboration featuring The Rollin’ Clones tribute act Alex Larke, 35, from Welwyn Garden City, and struggling solo singer Bianca Nicholas, 26, from Kent, performed a tired electro-swing track after being selected from hundreds of hopefuls by the BBC. So, who made the Beeb boss, and when the UK produces the likes of Adele and Ed Sheeran, how did they get it so wrong?
