Ahead of Eid Al-Adha next week, it is expected that Sunday 19 August will be a dry night in the UAE.

The dry period is scheduled to start at 6.30pm (at sunset) on 19 August and last until 7.30pm Monday, August 20.

The dry night means that bars and restaurants around the UAE will not be permitted to serve alcoholic drinks.

While the official date of Eid Al-Adha has not yet been confirmed, it is expected to last from Tuesday 21 August and last until Friday 24 August.

It has already been confirmed that the public sector will have a full week off work, from Sunday, 19 August 19 until Sunday 26 August.

Private sector dates are yet to be announced.
