EEK! The UAE's high humidity is here to stay...
Just last week it felt like the UAE’s weather was finally cooling down. We were able to spend time outdoors, and the sizzling summer seemed like a thing of the past. But in the last couple of days the extreme humidity levels were back with a bang, and weather reports say it’s going to stay the same for the next few weeks.
The National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) says that the humidity we’re currently experiencing is the “transition between the UAE summer and winter” due to the region’s monsoon season. A spokesman revealed: “The wind is carrying more water vapour. It is coming from the Arabian Sea at night and during early morning and the Arabian Gulf during the day and evening.”
And sadly, it seems like the humidity isn’t going to drop for weeks. “It will continue over the next month. Coastal areas will be worst affected, as will inland areas in the west,” he said.
