Edward Maya has been woken from his sleep at the Sofitel Hotel, Jumeirah Beach Residence, where he has been resting before his show at Chi tonight (October 20). Awake, ready to chat and in the hotel’s café, Edward Maya meets Ahlan! Live’s Editor, Shannon Wylie for an exclusive chat about his forthcoming show and what his take is of the new product Philips have just launched in the UAE.
“I’ve been to Dubai three times,” sings Edward in his quiet European accent. The music maestro whose real name is Eduard Marian Ilie has hit the UAE with his two best friend in tow. “Tonight I will combine the live act with my two best friends. I will also play live vocal and an accordion.” And Edward is set to give Dubai one exclusive performance because according to him it’s all about the crowd. “I don’t prepare. I wait to see the crowd.”
“I love the oriental flavor," he continued of the crowd. "I combine the oriental flavor with electronic. I’m obsessed with music and harmony.” Speaking of which Philips have just launched the Fidelio Docking Speakers which they are eager to unveil to Edward and AhlanLive saw his first reaction to the product. “It’s the perfect collaboration with Edward,” says Vincenzo Ventricelli, Philips Marketing Manager. “A sound purist.”
Edwards reaction? “I think I will use those speakers for my music from now on,” he blurted. The speakers are designed to unleash the sound of video, games and music from your Ipad and Iphone making it the perfect new must-have accessory for any music fan. “It’s for the young ipod and iphone users,” continued Vincenzo. “They are designed to replicate music the way the artist intended.”
It’s about being “obsessed with sound!”
