Easy Apple Crumble

Serves 6

6 apples, peeled, cored and chopped
2 tbsp caster sugar (or vanilla sugar)
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup flour
100g butter, chilled and diced
¹/3 cup rolled oats

Preheat the oven to 180C.
2. Put the apple in a pan and cover with a little bit of water and the caster sugar and cook until tender and lightly caramelised. You can use vanilla sugar for added flavour. You can also add in a few blueberries, blackberries or strawberries.
3. Combine the flour, brown sugar and rub the diced butter through until you have a consistency that resembles large breadcrumbs, then stir in the rolled oats.
4. Use individual baking dishes or one large one and fill with apples then top with the crumble and bake for about 30 minutes. Serve with vanilla custard.
