Dubai Trams on the Way!
Dubai’s Al Sufouh Tram Project will open by November 2014

Dubai’s Al Sufouh Tram Project is on track to begin operating in November 2014, with 62 per cent of the project now complete.

The first test run of the carriages have been carried out successfully in France and they will be shipped to Dubai in December this year.

Work on the 14.6-km-long tram system that will serve Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai Marina and Al Sufouh neighborhoods began around three years ago. It will be completed in two phases and the entire network will have 17 stations.

Each tram will have the capacity to accommodate 300 passengers at a time and will have three coaches: a gold suite, a cabin for ladies and children and a silver class cabin.

The tram will also have links to the Dubai Metro at three stations along Sheikh Zayed Road via footbridges and links to the Monorail on The Palm Jumeirah.
