Dubai is the place to be this year!

The city's tourism sector has noted a significant increase in the number of visitors, an impressive 11% in the first quarter. The months of January to March saw 4.57Million travellers visiting the city.

The largest increase in number of tourists comes from China and Russia, each bringing in 230,000 and 126,000 tourists respectively, reports Emirates 247. A major reason behind this is the fact that both countries can obtain visa on arrival in the UAE.

The top 3 positions go to India, Saudi Arabia and the UK. These three countries single handily made for 30% of visits to the city in this quarter alone! India also became the first ever market to record nearly 580,000 visitors in any one quarter.

The remainder of the top 10 all saw positive contributions, with Iran up a strong 39% in visitors as compared to last year, Pakistan up 17%, the United States up 6%, and Kuwait bringing up the GCC contribution with 10% growth.

There's no doubt that Dubai is a city with a multitude of offerings, and we have the numbers to prove it!
