Dubai Steps is Coming Soon and More
If you haven’t heard the news, one of the city’s latest project is Dubai Steps, which is set to be another iconic landmark. This will be part of their initiative to make Dubai a sustainable and green city by building a staircase with 500 steps however there won’t be an end destination. It’s set to be a place where residents can exercise.
“This is the first time that such a project will be carried out. There are many countries around the world that are famous for their steps, but the difference is that those steps lead you to a place...however, that will not be the case with Dubai Steps” says Abdullah Rafie, assistant director general of the planning and engineering section at Dubai Municipality. “The project will not have a destiation but will be a landmark project, where people who want to exercise can go to.”
This is just one of the many projects that are currently in the works. Vertical Industrial City will be a 280 hectare site that will have residential, commercial and industrial components as well as a Gulf Safari, a 100-hectare golf complex with a training academy.
A new Convention Centre with a capacity to hold 10,000 people is also on the cards, with the complex also containing two hotels, offices and the new Mohammed Bin Rashid Library.
The Hardware, Bicycles and Green Building market will be built in Warsan. Covering an area of 11 hectares, the plans include 100 shops and 53 bicycle showrooms.
