Dubai Rugby Sevens Returns!

Dubai Rugby Sevens Returns!

04 Aug 2013

UAE rugby fans don't have to wait too much longer now the Sevens schedule has been announced for November 2013

Now in its 44th year, the Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens will make a welcome return to our shores from 28 to 30 November 2013.

Tickets are already on sale for the largest and longest-running international sporting event in the Middle East.
Over 90,000 people attended the event last year over the three days and the tournament broke a world record for the number of live hours broadcasted on TV to an incredible 149 countries across the globe.

As part of the run up, two legends of world rugby will be the star attractions at this year's Emirates Airline rugby event, at the Intercontinental Event Centre, DFC, on 19 September.

South Africa's Bobby Skinstad and England's Will Greenwood will be the event's guest speakers. And with the two World Cup winners both established among the top speakers on the international after-dinner circuit, a superb occasion is guaranteed. Bobby was a World Cup winner in 2007, when South Africa won the Webb Ellis Trophy for the second time.

Now a popular television commentator and pundit for Super Sport in South Africa, he represented The Sprinboks at all levels - captaining the under 21s before making his senior debut against England at Twickenham in November 1997. He went on to play 42 Test matches, scoring 11 tries, and appearing for South Africa in the 1999 World Cup, as well as playing in the winning 2007 team in France.
Will was a key member of England team that won the World Cup in Australia in 2003, playing in every game, and having a formidable partnership at centre with Mike Tindall. First capped in 1997, he played 55 times for his country, and was also selected for three tours with The British and Irish Lions. Since quitting rugby in 2006, Will has become a popular figure with viewers of Sky Sports in the UK, where he is a leading pundit and analyst.
