Dubai Drivers Have Legit Been Given A Car As A Reward For Driving Well
Dubai Police has decided to honour 3,600 motorists this year because of their impeccable driving.
Two of these lucky 3,600 also won cars in a draw! How exciting is that?
The number of people following traffic rules continues to rise every year, according to Dubai Police.
An impressive 87,562 motorists followed the law and didn’t commit any traffic violations in 2018, which is about 22,000 more than in 2017, according to the figures.
Out of these 87,562 people, 3,600 were randomly picked by computer software to be honoured by the Dubai Police.
The white points system introduced in 2012 is proving to be highly efficient in reducing violations of traffic laws which is also reducing road accidents.
In contrast to the black points system, the white points system is for motorists who do not have any traffic fines at all, including Salik, and parking fines.
According to the white points system, each eligible motorist can receive a total of 24 white points a year. The points will be calculated at the end of each year.
A motorist loses his or her entitlement to the month’s points if they have any kind of traffic rule violation recorded during that month. It doesn’t matter if the vehicle is driven by the owner or not.
The system is working quite well, continuing to motivate people to drive safe.
With a combination of safer roads and individual rewards, it's definitely a win-win situation!
