Dubai Police are driving around telling people to stay home

Dubai Police have taken a grass-roots approach to enforcing the stay-home rules implemented in a bid to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

There have been videos circulated of police cars driving the streets of Dubai, verbally telling people to stay home through a loud-speaker.

In the video, the speaker can be heard, directed at people on the street. The speaker says 'you, go home. Stay safe, stay home.'

It comes following the UAE Government's closure of malls, markets, gyms, cinemas and tourist attractions - urging UAE residents to stay home and help reduce the spread of coronavirus.

Supermarkets remain open and will be able to trade 24/7 if needed to ensure all residents have access to supplies.
